About Laura Christopherson
Laura Christopherson is Cyberinfrastructure Facilitator but really she is a bit of a swiss army knife for NRIG. She is the program evaluator for CI Compass and led program management efforts for the first year of the grant. On ImPACT and FABRIC, Laura leads system design and outreach efforts. She also performs social science research for NRIG projects when needed. Laura’s interests and expertise lie in information design, writing (project management documentation, technical help information, and research communication and scholarly publication), use of social science research methods (e.g., content analysis, communication and linguistic analysis), research and design ethics, training and teaching, synthesis and communication of science and technical information from other domains, systems analysis and design, usability and user experience, user research and requirements elicitation, and program/product management. Laura was a 2020 Trusted CI Fellow and has special interests in human factors related to cybersecurity. She participates in the Community of Communities working group that is focused on workforce development for research computing and cyberinfrastructure professionals. Laura has a PhD in information science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
