Project Description
The objective of the REU Site – FABRIC project is to engage a diverse group of undergraduate students in multi-disciplinary research in networks, distributed systems, and emerging cyberinfrastructure (CI) applications by leveraging the NSF FABRIC Mid-scale research instrument – a unique network infrastructure that enables cutting-edge experimentation and at-scale research in several CISE areas. The REU Site will include research projects investigating in-band network telemetry, in-network technologies like P4 and network FPGAs, enhanced network monitoring, ML-based cybersecurity analysis, evaluation of TCP congestion control algorithms for science data flows, AI-assisted medical imaging, and federated learning.
RENCI is responsible for successfully executing the training program and will also be responsible for some of the student research projects and professional development training.
